Can some of you please share pic's of how your dip stick has been marked?
Mine was marked with white paint at the full mark only. Their paint mark wore off in a day or two. The dealership didn't care, they just went by the factory marks and authorized the replacement.

Confused by this comment, do you not believe in catch cans to prevent excess oil vapors from going back into your engine intake??

My 2018 5.0 is currently in the test. Build date is 9-17-17, Engine assembly date unknown. Currently 13,500 miles. used over a qt in 1300 miles which started the inquiry. I'm the first one at my dealership and they are way above what I think Ford normally does but the TSB is very specific and they know there is a problem. No Mustangs at this dealership with a problem as I know.

Ford Performance oil separator installed in the first week. Always oil found in it and checked every 1000 miles. Not on it for the test and was never on it during dealer service. Mine will remove in less than 5 minutes. You can find the installation on You-Tube.

This may be the demise of the V-8 in our trucks.

My Catch-can didn't get nearly that much in 2.5k miles, but it got enough to justify my expense. Plus I don't have an oil consumption issue.

got ya lol, my catch can looks just like mptoledo’s in the above post whenever I change my oil; when my oil life got to 7% last oil change the catch can was full and don’t think it burned oil based off what was in my catch can but will start checking today

Ford is replacing my motor without an oil consumption test. I’m assuming the PCV valve hasn’t been the silver bullet they were looking for.

would changing to FULL synthetic possibly make this issue better or worse. Approaching 2000 miles, and want to get that initial out of there anyway......

Would changing to 5w-30 potentially make it better or worse? (surely not to 0w-20 like some of the gm's and nissan use)

nope I don’t think so. I am sure Ford would definitely prefer that to be the fix versus engine replacement
