2018-2019 f150 auto start stop Mess FIX!!

Right now I'm running the plug disconnected at the brake pedal. Like others, haven't seen a side effect yet beyond not recognizing a trailer.

You could jump the wire and turn it on and off at will, or when it's dealer time for something.
Fwiw, I bought a $2 dollar trailer light tester that I actually trimmed it down quite a bit, so the cap to the trailer hook-up wouldn't stay wide open.
That worked decent enough till I forscanned it off.
Is it ideal? Hell no, but it's a decent stopgap till you decide what you want permanently.
Also, if I read another person basically say why are you to lazy to push the button, I may possibly flip out

Doesn't matter!
I did the jumper wire on the switch just like the available video for the 17's. It's disabled until I remove the jumper. I have had this in for the last 3 weeks and no issues.

I installed a led tailgate light bar on my 2018 F-150 XLT. Below is the one I installed:
After plugging it into the 4 pin trailer light connector, Auto Start Stop is disabled. There are a couple of negative's that I can easily live with for now:
1) Every time I start the vehicle there is a brief message stating there is a trailer connected.
2) Reverse Park Aid is disabled since vehicle thinks there is a trailer attached. No big deal since all 2018's have a rear camera.

Somebody in the forscan thread in this section posted a document that Mike in Atlanta probably should look at. It does a great job in explaining the charging system and what it does, but it doesn't designate that its for a 2018 or any other ford model year. But it does use the correct nomenclature in which modules are talking to who.
By the way my A.S.S. has been forscaned off since last September. I have not seen any issues, but I plan on with the week to monitor via volt meter in my scan gauge, battery charging rate with the forscan mod and with out. I also did purchase that same black box as Mike In Atlanta did and plan on installing it after I get A.S.S. un-forscaned.

Mike - I am sorry to hear that switch you ordered didn't work. Hopefully they get it figured out. I am taking the truck to the dealer on Friday for the seat belt tensioner recall. I will probably disconnect that plug before drive home from the dealer.
