Default 2017 Tailgate not locking

Just picked up a 2017 last week and noticed my tailgate does not lock with the door locks (either using the fob or door lock switch). I did check to ensure the connector for the tailgate was attached - BU camera works, courtesy light on handle works, but not locks.

I have a call into the dealership for an appointment, but could this be something simple I could do to save a trip?

(tried searching, sorry if this is common)

How do you know it's not locking.

Have you locked it, put the fob in the house well away from the truck and then tried to open it?

Will try this at lunch, but it makes no "clunk" of the actuator engaging. The XL they gave me as a loaner yesterday locked perfect. Talked to the service manager and they are having me take it in next week.

Thanks
Jack

It's a known issue - look at that link I posted. Parts are on backorder now.

I have to push the lock pad on the fob twice, once does the doors, twice gets the tailgate.

That's odd. If I push the lock on the key FOB once it locks my tailgate.

As for the OP, could be a frozen lock or maybe the lock actuator is malfunctioning. Just let the dealer look at it.

It may be this - has not been below freezing since I have owned the truck, who knows how long it was on the lot. Thanks for the heads up!
