I went in and grabbed all the steering shaft at all points and cannot get it to pop at all.... Ive lubed it...nothing helps. The only thing i can feel is a SLIGHT amount of play where the shaft hits the steering box?

i almost wonder if the pinion gear is slipping inside the rack. can you have someone turn the wheel and you watch it?

I would but it rarely happens when it is sitting still. Normally its when im going slow speeds and turning. It only happens probably 25% of the time. Took me 6 turns last night to get it to do it. But some days it will all the time. Most frustrating thing ive dealt with on a truck in a long time.

Check your CV axles...they usually start clicking at lock or near full lock when a joint is going bad.
