Default 2016 vs. 2017

Hello F-150 lovers. I would like anyone's opinion on 2016 vs. 2017 F-150's. I have ny eye on some 2016's and '17's for sale in my area, and there isn't more than a 2 or 3 thousand dollar difference between the price of the 2 years after dealer discounts her in the Maryland and Virginia metropolitan area. Also, should I be concerned about how long the truck has sat on the dealers lot , as some 2016's and 2017's have been sitting on the dealers lots for about the same amount of time. Thanks for any help.

Cup holder size is the only difference, plus there should be a 5-6k price difference

I was a little leery of the new 10-speed tranny, if you're in that market. New-ish 3.5 Eco, too. No evidence, just thinking about the idea of new tech. And saving money on top of that. If I really thought my ideal 2016 truck would be on a lot in two months, when I want to buy, I would be looking to buy a 2016 and have the dealer drop pants while I'm at it. But as my truck is nowhere to be found in either year, I don't have a choice.

Depends on what model you're looking at. The 3.5 EB has 2nd gen. motor with dual injection which equates to more HP & TQ and a 10 speed transmission. <~~~~~ This is huge IMHO. Also on the 16' Lariats I saw had wood grain accents my 17' has grey accents. Bliss on the 17' now includes trailer blind spot if you pull a trailer. And that's what I can think of top of my head. The 18's will be a tad different do a forum or google search. New front end and tailgate along with different available stereo and wheels. The 2.7 and 5.0 motors get enhancements and 10 speed.

Here in California last weekend I picked up a 17 F150 SCREW XL 2.7L Ecoboost with the STX package for 32K(40K Truck MSRP) with all rebates. I would just go ahead and get the 17 IMHO if they are a couple K apart. I absolutely love my truck and very impressed with the 2.7

2017's

1. Updated 3.5 EB
2. 10 spd tranny
3. Sync 3 (can start truck from Ford Pass app)
4. Enhanced BLIS
5. Revised Boxlink
6. Updated interior on Lariat's

Just a few things
Also with the 2018's being released later this year, the brand new 2016's will take more of a a hit on value once they are (if that matters to you)
Here, there was a $14k difference (CDN) on price, but I lease and the rates were 4.5 vs 0.99%
it was a no brainer

For you, if the difference in price is a couple G's, get the 17

Allow for my ignorance, here. (My truck is still some 7 weeks away.) Are you saying you can use a phone app to start the truck? I would do that just to impress my friends.
Thanks,
Mike Todd
