Does anyone have a sync 3 1.0 to 2.2 update file for 16 non nav? I have searched relentlessly on this forum and others and cannot find one. I also brought my truck into the dealer today and they can not update it to 3.0 because it gets the memory error message and even they don’t have a 2.2 update file to try that first.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to get apple carplay as I have already bought the updated usb module.

 

I would scan through the thread here. In the last month or so I recall a user with non nav having trouble updating and I think the solution was discussed there. Required updating in a few steps. If not, ask your question there.

I’m not trying to update to 3.4 specifically. Just at least to 2.2 to get car play and maybe 3.0 after that. I will check the thread and get back to you.

The only reason that I am looking for a 2.2 update is because I have read that going from 1.0 straight to 3.0 can mess with the voice controls

 

Oh I see, yes, Sync 3 2.2 does support CarPlay. I thought 3.0 was required.

Can you not download the 2.2 update from Ford since it is officially supported for your year? What download options does this site give you by VIN?

There are several on this forum who have helped many get past the memory error by breaking up the upgrade. You might have better luck going that direction. I think one user: acool or you might try some of the experts in this thread: Upgrade Sync 3 V3.0 to V3.4 instructions - Page 464 - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans redden18, kzoojason76 or JRSBIll could probably help you get past the memory error.

I do have a copy of the file you are looking for, (SYNC 2.2 upgrade for non-nav). Just need to find a way to get it to you.

 

I entered my vin on Fords website and only version 3.0 popped up when entering my vin. The issue is that 3.0 is too big when going straight from 1.0 to 3.0.

I am going to try to use file 4 from the previous thread you mentioned tonight, but work keeps getting in the way and as soon as I get home, they call me back out. 24hr home/commercial services is just peachy sometimes lol

Breakers, if you could upload it somehow to a google drive and send me the link for it, I would great appreciate it. I also know that it is time consuming and I know that not everyone has spare time in the day for it. Let me know if you’re able to come up with a way to get it on a server.

 

Breakers sent me the v2.2 file. I am currently trying to install it right now.

I will keep you updated as I go along with this.

I might try a different flash drive as I heard scandisc sometimes has problems as well. If it doesn’t work tonight, I will go purchase a different brand and try it tomorrow.

 

Same issue again. About 10-15 minutes in even with the files broke into two pieces, memory error pops up. I’m almost at a loss here at what to do.

On the root of my usb it has one folder and one lst file.

First the folder is SyncMyRide with these 4 files inside of it:
