Just based on a few of the comments, this is most likely an EPAS issue. Does the behavior change with the crown of the road?

I drove it some more yesterday. I don't even know now. It doesn't feel as bad as it did or I am just getting used to it. I played with the "dead zone" I described, I looked out the window and even though the wheel feels lighter in the middle, minor movements of it do make the wheels respond. I don't think its a steering dead zone, I think a better way to describe it now is there is less resistance in the middle of the wheel when moved back and forth. It's responding, it just feels light.

I saw this, this morning, you may want to read it. Seems there's a few with steering problems.

Same here, along with a lot of felt vibration that I feel may be caused by the steering feeling so dead. Seems loose on the highway, quite scary. Wondering if people got used to it or if mine is messed up, but they claimed that it felt perfectly fine while test driving it. Not surprising though.
