2016 Parking Sensor Problem
My driver side outer sensor will indicate a problem sometimes when it is raining, even if I wipe it off. But not every time. It can be annoying if backing very far, so I temporarily turn it off and watch my camera a little closer.
Is it super cold out? Mine did that the other day on both sides... after it rained, then freezed overnight, might have been some water that froze over the sensor that was triggering both sides to indicate something "behind" me. I paid close attention to backing up and turned ti off, went about my business...
As it warmed up later in the day, the problem went away and didn't do it again. I've had it happen before in the rain... as XLT Shaker said. But it went away next time I drove the truck.

Is it cold where you live. These sensors periodically seem to freeze up. This has happened on each one of my last 5 vehicles with them. Unfortunately I would be willing to bet that the dealer pulls it into their warm garage and tells you they can't reproduce it.
Yes, it's been very cold. I had a feeling it was a small amount of ice buildup on the sensors. I cleaned the ice off but it's still happening. It wouldn't be so bad of that noise wasn't so irritating. Thanks for the replies, I never had this issue on my '10 or '08 F150s unless the sensors were straight up filthy.
I get the same thing in cold weather. Water, snow and ice gets packed up inside my rear bumper and around the plug. During the summer I took them out and applied a heavy coat of DiLectric grease. No problems any longer and it has been a hard cold winter here in Buffalo.

I could see this being pretty irritating going forward. This only happens in reverse, right? If so, I can't see it being "that" much of an irritation.
Mine did it a couple of times in the past week and it was first thing in the morning after rain the previous day and waking up to teens for temps that morning. By the time temps warmed up, the problem went away..
I just started having a problem when I put my truck in reverse the chime immediately goes off and it looks like it sensing something on the passenger side, I don't have the sensors on the Taillights, just the 4 on the bumper. There is nothing blocking the sensor. Any idea what I can try to do?

I wiped it off, same thing.
Its warm and I’m at the beach.
Other sensors work fine.
Thoughts? Truck is still under warranty.
