2016 HD Payload thread
Wow almost 2yrs.
You deserve a metal.
I love that color. Thats what I wanted but got a white pearl/bronze. Maybe next time.
Its almost a yr old with 11k mi. Still runs great. Only has 1388lbs payload but so far fits my needs.

I am wondering what tires you all got with your truck with the HDPP?
I got the Goodyear Wrangler all terrain adventure with Kevlar with 113 load index and S Speed rating.
Not sure if all came with this tire or not.

I got the XLT HPP truck I've been waiting for and have been wondering if the differences were worth the wait and restrictions. I have 2455 lbs on the payload sticker, and 7850 GVWR, so that should be 5400 lbs for the truck. Once I see the grain elevator not too backed up with harvest I'll go over their scale and get an actual weight. I've also taken a bunch of detail photos of the undercarriage to post to return the favor to all who use this site for research. Bottom line is I'm pretty sure the frame, springs, and shocks are an upgrade, but I have my doubts about the rear axle being unique to the HPP. The ride is great! I thought the 250's were a bit too stiff for unloaded road trips of considerable distance, and I feared I'd dislike the softness of a regular 150 once I loaded it up. The intention was to hit the middle, and it does so quite well.
Axle details for 2016 HPP:
I saw the tech sheet posted that showed a 9.75/3.73 and a 9.75HD/3.73 for the F150 with an extra pint of oil for the HD. Perhaps someone with a non-HPP max tow will compare these part details to confirm or deny any difference in the axle. My suspicion is they are the same, which is useful info for anyone who is considering just getting a regular 150 and doing their own suspension upgrades.
The casting has RFHL3W-4025AA along the bottom, and 6E04 by the pinion.
The S921A sticker could probably tell the truth to someone good with part numbers. My door sticker shows 4800 lbs for RAWR, but I'm thinking that's due to the tires and springs, not the axle itself.

Frame detail for 2016 F-150 Heavy Payload Package:
I didn't actually check the thickness of the frame, and the paint coating would be enough to create error anyway because 10% more than super-freaky-thin is still thin. However, there is a sticker that appears to confirm that the HPP gets a unique frame.
