2016 HD Payload thread
I know you were being funny, but turns out you were almost right....
My truck was built June 8 and shipped June 10, and STILL isn't here.
First ETA was July 10, then changed to July 25, now July 27!!
47 days to get from KC to local dealer????? I've only been waiting for 82 weeks from my first order....what's another week or two.
Anyone else that ordered prior to production starting, still waiting?
I'm thinking of starting a support group: PPHDPPA (postponed heavy duty payload package anonymous)
FINALLY!!
After 84 weeks from my original order (for a 2015), I finally received my truck. My wife can't believe I had this much patience, but I wanted what I wanted, and had no choice, really. It came in last week, but the dealer had some issues figuring out the pricing and it took him over a week to get it sorted out.
Payload is a bit lower than some others at 2325 lbs, likely due to all the options I managed to add on. I think I ordered everything that was available with the HDPP in Canada except for the FX4 package, and side box steps. This should be a very capable truck for my current and future needs.
To recap: Lariat super crew, 6.5' box, 3.5 EB, HDPP, tow mirrors, spot lights, step bars, spray in bed-liner, remote start, navigation, Sony stereo, skid plates, BLIS, bucket seats, large fuel tank, tailgate step, and wheel well liners. Still have to install a Leer cap, hood protector, and mud flaps, and in the near future will be adding a curved Putco LED light bar in the grille and doing the side spotlight and headlight bulb mods.
This is replacing a 2001 GMC Sierra extend cab 6.5' box w/5.3L V8. That truck served me well but was down on power and overloaded for towing my camper when all loaded up with water and firewood, and I was wanting better fuel economy for my daily commute.
I hope this F-150 is not a lemon, because I hope to have it for at least 10 years...

I wouldn't be concerned about it being a lemon. The overwhelming majority of these trucks serve people for several years before needing major repairs in or out of warranty. Your payload number ended up being lower, because you bought a Lariat 500A and added most of what the 501A package gives you. Nicely done. The funny thing is, your F-150 has a higher payload capacity than my F-250 does. It's only got a payload rating of 2076lbs. Then again I got a truck with pretty much every option you can have outside of the massaging seats in the Platinum.
It's a good looking truck. Enjoy it.

You have what I have coming except I ordered Black with the FX4. I expect mine to be about the same payload as you since you did get the skid plates. It is more than I was hoping for. My current 2014 FX4 SCrew only has a 1350 lb payload and I am tired of being thrifty on what I carry in and on the truck.
Great looking truck! I wish I had the patience to have waited for the HDPP, but pulled the trigger well over a year ago on a 2015 and have been enjoying my Lariat since last June. Have 32k miles on it already and really love it, but the extra payload would be great. I am just over 1700 lbs and that works most of the time. Might keep this for a few years and then look at a super duty. Enjoy what you have now - you have earned it with your patience!!
