Default 2015 start delay

Hi all, picked up a new truck 2 days ago, a leftover 2015, anyways dumb question for you all, yesterday, went to start the truck, it's cold here right now so was going to let it warm up, I opened the passenger door, key in and twist - nothing happened. So I turned the key back off, and gave it a couple seconds, tried again, and worked. This morning, I tried twice the same way then with the key in and in the off position, left it a second or two and it started. So, seems like the electronics need to "wake up" on these new truck before you can Crank the engine? My 2012 I just cranked right away and it went. Is this normal? Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

In researching this just a little here, someone on a forum said that it would start after the electronics "turned on" after just cycling the key like I did, except I went immediately to off when nothing happened. If I left it in on maybe it would have started....I might try this when I get in it next. At the dealer and once yesterday it seemed to start normally but maybe I unitentionally gave it that extra second of the key being in the ignition before cranking...I've only started this truck a total of 4 times so far.

Yea I didn't have any issue of it actually not starting it was just delayed which seemed odd. It only seems to do it with one set of keys although it could just be a coincidence.

So can I ask you, when you say delayed, do you mean kind of like what I was describing the other guy on another forum said, you twist the key, release, nothing happens, then it suddenly starts?

Yes, that's exactly what happens. I don't know if it's indicative a problem but it just seems odd that it's intermittent.

Thanks! Maybe just so many sensors and stuff to read from it takes time sometimes.

Hmm, so when I left work today, I tries to just turn the key, and leave it in on to see if the electronics would catch up and start the engine, after a few seconds they did not, the gauges radio everything was alive but engine never started. I had to turn it again to start. But it's also weird, on the way home I had 2 stops to make, both times I shut the truck off and left for a few mins, when I came back and opened the door, had some usual lights and stuff on the dash come on and put the key in and turned and started like normal. When I start it after a few hours it seems like the electronics take longer and so it does the no-start thing until they wake up.
