2015 Speaker Problems (constant static)
The problem is that even with the radio off or at 0 volume there is low level static coming through. Does NOT whine with the alternator.
Data:
2015 S.CREW, V8 (5.0L), XLT, No Sony, 7 speaker, no NAV, 8" screen.
Aftermarket system:
Hertz Hi-Energy Components Up front
Hertz Hi-Energy Coax rears
JL Stealthbox with 13.5" TW3
Kicker IQ Amp 1000.5
Stock HU
This was installed by a reputable shop. I have been through countless sound systems so I know a fair bit about them.
What I have tested: I took out the signal wires and the static goes away (amplifier OK). I ran completely separate power from the battery to the amp and the sound remained (power wire not bleeding into signal wire). Jumped my remote wire from the constant power in the rear and the sound remained (remotre wire not acting like antenna). Ground is about 3ft long directly to the frame with the paint scraped off. This leads me to think that the problem is in the HU that it is always giving out voltage for some reason. The shop said they had seen this in Fords and other vehicles. It seems really strange to me. Having spent most of my working day scouring the internet for other problems similar to this, I have only seen one or two postings that have come up with the same conclusions. Others have found bad grounds or something else wrong. What do you guys think? I am missing something? Time to throw in the towel and get a noise filter or something?

I just had some Polk 6502 and 652 speakers along with a pioneer amp and low profile sub installed. I noticed the chimes, etc.. were all extremely loud and I also had a fair amount of static over the speakers. I also noticed that I couldn't turn the radio up past 10-12 before it was way too loud. I turned the gain down on the amp for each of the channels and it fixed all of my issues. All chimes, tones, etc.. are now the right level, the static is gone, and I can now turn the radio up to about 20 before my head explodes. The shop should have probably made this adjustment but its easy to do and might fix your problem.
Thanks for the feedback. I don't think the big 3 is one of my problems at the moment, the alternator puts out plenty of current and I don't see any powering issues. I think I'll put that as my last resort.
With respect to the gain, it can get rid of the static. What sucks is that the gain on my amp is really low at that point and so I can turn the volume all the way up on the HU. Mostly that's ok because I am an SQ kinda guy but every once in a while when going 80mph down the highway with all the windows down, it'd be nice to crank it up. Anyway the shop is looking into some additional filtering options, I will let the forum know for folks that might come across the same issue. I'd be glad to hear any other ideas folks have.

I have a new 2018 F150 XLT 5.0 and my OEM kicker subwoofer has static with the vehicle offer, probably when its on too I just can't hear it. Kind of frustrating having just paid $50,000 for a vehicle to have little quirks like this. I liked it better when vehicles were more simple without all these cheap electronic devices that fail all the time and drastically raise costs.
