2015+ Frozen Door Latch TSB/ Recall- UPDATED THREAD

I am now experiencing the frozen latch problem with my 2020 F150. I am wondering if a good Krown rustproofing job in the doors done by a good Krown trained technician my resolve the problem? Krown is supposed to displace moisture and protect electrical components!

Mine is going back in a 2nd time. Passenger front door won’t unlock.
Rear driver door unlocks then once you open the door it won’t re-latch or lock so it’s just swinging open.
Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

I’m told it involves installing some sort of shield and using silicon to seal and divert moisture from the locking mechanism. Sounds like a hack fix to me.

John
Look at door handle bezels after this so-called "fix" and you'll see silicone smeared around them. On my white truck they were particularly thoughtful and used black silicone, for a nice contrast.
Ford fixed this on newer trucks (2020+?) with updated, re-routed cables, but they refuse to fix our older trucks with the new cables. Instead we get blocks of foam and smeared silicone. State of the art.

Hack is the right word.

I still love my truck, however.

all of these repairs are hacks. do it as cheaply as possible. my fav is the fix for the sparking seat belts that were starting fires. they just used metal tape to cover the carpet from sparks. why not replace the damn part making the sparks?
why has no one started a class action suite?
