Hey everybody new to the forums and possible 1st time Ford owner.
Here's what I'm working with. Found a pretty nice 15 fx4 locally. Last night I went and took it for a test drive. Drove great everything checks out. Got under it with my flash light to verify no issues under the truck when I noticed it didn't have the red and white rancho shocks like I see on my friends 250. Also I looked like the skid plate was missing I did see what looked like a small one.
it did have the Hill descent button above the radio which I know is part of the FX4 package
Since I'm new to Ford's and the 2015+ model the question is. Do the 150s not get the red ranchos and could somebody post a pic of what the skid plates should look like underneath please
Side note that new f150 is a damn smooth ride

My 2016 FX4 has black shocks......
Too much snow on the ground for skid plate pics......
I do know that the one under the engine is pretty thin....
But i have read on this forum that the factory skid plates are more cosmetic and don't really provide much protection.
There were some links to some nice after market ones in the thread.

No the F150 does not come with red Rancho shocks. If you want real skid plates check out RCI Off Road skid plates. You can get them in steel or aluminum.

Are the black ones rancho? Trying to figure out what they mean by off road tuned suspension

The F150 does not come with Rancho shocks. Honestly, after owning them I wouldn't bother. The Ranchos are definitely a worse ride than the Ford shocks. The truck should have a skid plate on the front center of the underside.

Search the forum this has been discussed many times, the FX4 package has minimal skid plates and is otherwise cosmetic.

I wouldn't worry about the lack of Rancho shocks, they are generally considered to be crap. But they're red! If the truck is otherwise good, buy it and drive it, you may find the stock shocks to be fine and if not the upgrade is Bilstein 5100's. So far I'm having no issue with the stock shocks.

The shocks on the 15 FX4 package are black but they are supposed to be a little more heavy duty than the standard.
