Default 2019 conversion

I know this has been posted before, but I couldn't find a complete list of parts needed for the conversion. I am mainly posting this to give a general guideline for anyone in the future. I also have part numbers, but the numbers will change depending upon which options you go with (grille, headlights, bumper, etc.). I took a ton of photos, so if needed I can do a complete write-up in the future just don't have time at the moment. I am free to answer any questions for others looking to tackle this, overall it wasn't very difficult. I swapped everything in my garage a few nights ago.

2018+ parts needed:
  • Bumper+
    • Fog light housings (if needed)
    • Bumper filler (rubber piece between bumper and trim)
    • Bumper opening cover (2015 is shaped differently)
  • Bumper molding+ (plastic painted section between grille and bumper)
    • Trim support (piece behind the molding at the ends)
    • Air ducts (2015 interferes with the bumper molding)
  • Headlights+
  • Grille+
    • Emblem
    • Shutters (active grille shutters)
    • Under cover
    • Sight shield
  • Fender Flares (2015 are too long in the front)

Interchangeable parts:
  • Headlight ballasts (if LED)
  • Bumper mounting brackets
  • Fog light harness (even led fog lights use the same wiring harness)
  • Almost all fasteners

Purely personal preference. I wanted to de-chrome the front anyway and after looking at the 18/19 refresh I like it better. Honestly the OEM LED's on the 18+ front end is what pushed me over the edge.

Wow. That's awesome. That's gotta be $4k.

Just the headlights are like 2k right?

With the discounts that are available on 2019's, wouldn't it be a heck of a lot easier to just go trade for a 2019? And maybe cheaper. The truck does look good by the way.

Appreciate that.

Yes and no. Depends on how cheap you could find one I guess. I was specifically looking for a black Lariat 502a sport. I ended up finding a 16’ chrome for a steal, and after hearing about the 18+ random consumption issues on the 5.0 it made more sense. Especially since I would need to convert from a chrome package anyway.

Looks awesome!! I did mine awhile back too. One of the best mods. Now I just need to change over to the oem LEDs like you did.

I haven’t sat and totaled up all of the parts, but the headlights were definitely the most expensive parts. I think retail on new headlights would be around 2k like you said. I found a new takeoff set without ballasts for about half that, and reused the ballasts from my old headlights. The part numbers are identical, so that made it easier.
