Default Latest update on mileage

Ok, last update on mileage from me for a while, I think I've been obsessing too much on this. Took the truck and my popup camper on a trip to Ponca (same place I went a couple weeks ago) and had a total trip average of 17.2 mpg. This included starting from my driveway to parking it back, about 20 miles of city driving, a bunch of driving around the twisty hill in Ponca (loaded and unloaded) and the rest highway at about 73mph average. Highway average turned out about 17.7, but I didn't take a pic, sorry. The camper and all the stuff in the backseat of the truck come up to about 1500lbs total.

I'm pretty happy with this. I know the popup is not really much of a load, but still. With my old 99 5.4 I could never get better than 12mpg. Nice to see I still had a good bit of fuel left in the tank at the end of the trip. :-)

Average speed 65-67 mph. It would've been better without the extra city miles.
Is there any particular reason you turn TC off?

I said automotive designed to run with ethonol in gasoline get just as or better fuel mileage as old gas guzzlers got on other gasolines with carcenogen fuel additives ones with toxic effects on yours and everyone elses health. My F150 XLT 2.7 gets 23.4 mpg over 3537 miles since the lot cage. No complaints here. My state mandates ethanol in gasoline.

How much carbon was produced in making the ethonal? Which causes your vehicle to produce less and adding more problems?

You're in trouble now.

An it is a carbon base planet so shut yours off, starve, freeze and do without. Meanwhile the rest of us profit & most booze, problems are self inflicted or by a tree, once again self inflicted pain. Your real brag point is the refineries of petro products, which burn off more from the 24 hr. Seven day a week flamed from their stacks. Most all your gripe hurts family farming/limited partnerships and grass roots americans an you root for the fat cat oil conglomerates.

What exactly was the selling point of ethonal again? Other than seems to save you money while causing more problems for engines?

An here is where you ate totally wrong to date. The engines/vehicles /computers/sensors/fuel sysyems/lubricating oil are all engineered for it. Another example is the planes are designed to fly higher than ever because there is less resistance way up there. It doesn't make it any easier if you fall. The company makes more money and your ticket price goes up.

Thank you so much for posting this! The truck had 4k miles on it when I bought it because the dealerships manager had been driving it for a awhile, so I had them throw in an oil change. After reading that I thought I better go check the level and found it to be about 7 to 8" over full! I have always done my own oil changes cause I am an Amsoil guy and figured I would just have them change it now and get out any break in debris and then I would change it again when the truck hit 10k. Guess I am doing it tomorrow now.

No particular reason. I turned it off as I was driving down a dirt road.
