Speaking of the dream meter. When I fill up, it says 456 miles to empty. On a 23 gallon tank. That math works out to 19.8 MPG. But the liar tells me I'm getting 20.8.

So far for me just at stop and go traffic, avg of 17.6 mpg. I live in avondale and when i drive to mesa (all freeway) it ups towards 19.1 mpg going 65-70mph. Guess i need to drive more long streches to take advantage of saving fuel on 91 octane.

My commute consists of lot of back windy 55 mph roads and then highways were 80 is the norm. Needless to say mpg suffers. Usually around 18.5-19.
not complaining as i could achieve that by driving like granny in my 5.0. That is full tank to e light reading. I don't fill up midway. City driving seems to be much better. I'll be around 21 if I don't drive to work 😄

Ive got 40K on my 2.7 now and I have average around 22mpg. If i keep it under 60 I'll see mid 20s, but around 65 I get 22-23 typically.

1.0 MPG off is not that horrible. If you don't like the MPG meter than don't pay attention to it.

I think you missed the point. The math for DTE is using a MPG number that is different than what the meter is reporting. I just find that a bit curious.....

91 octane 21 gallon fill, 60 mph with a strong cross wind.

Here's a good one for all you deep-thinkers....
The other day, as my fuel tank was down to 30 miles DTE, I knew I had a few more small runs to make before I could get to a gas station (I live in BFE). When I shut the truck off, it was exactly 30 miles DTE. I had about a gallon of gas in my portable can, so I thought I'd pout that in, just as insurance, to make my stops, and get to the gas station. I would guess it was actually a little more than a gallon, maybe gallon & half. When I re-fired the truck, it still read 30 miles DTE. Between my stops and getting to the gas station, it was about 10 miles, and DTE was 20 when I pulled in to the pumps. Fill up took 20.9 gallons, so I had about 2 gallons left (23 gal tank). I average ~21 mpg.
Why no adjustment to DTE when I added the gallon+? With 2 gallons left, but only 20 miles DTE, I'll assume the last gallon is under the fuel pump pick-up. The biggest head-scratcher was why DTE didn't adjust after adding another gallon.
Thoughts??
