Default 2.7 EB Payload package

Who here with the 2.7 opted in for the Payload Package? I am looking to get a 5x12 enclosed trailer and a boat in the future and was wondering if this $400 is beneficial. I know the MPG will take a hit with the 3.73 but from what I've read it's not that much to notice a difference.

The option includes
• 3.73 Electronic-locking rear-axle
• 9.75” gear set
• Mechanical Parking Brake

NBD with the 10 speed. You have 3 or 4 OD gears.

The 2.7L Payload Package is cool in that it gives you both the 3.73 gears paired with the 9.75" gear set. It's $698 per x-plan.

However, you are limited to lower trim levels with this package (ie. 300a required instead of 301a). If you want the same performance, you can get just the 3.73 gears for $530 per x-plan, pick the trim level you want, and the super-8 rear end is still pretty stout.

I think the 3.73 gears paired with the 2.7L EB would be really fun to drive around town...

Crap! Looks like I'm unable to add anything to the truck if a vin has been issued in cotus. This sucks!

I have the payload package and 3.73. Runs and tows great. The 2.7 and 3.73 gearing is a perfect match.

I'm beginning to think that 3.73 gearing is a great match for all of these motors...

I towed a 6x12 enclosed with my 2.7 and 6 speed and it did fine. The 10 speed has lower gears on the bottom so it should be better even with 3.55 gearing, I wouldn't worry to much.
