It has absolutely fixed mine....so far! One thing i will mention is it has to be installed backwards. Or at least i think it's backwards. When you get it, it will have the letters "TB Side" stamped in the top of it with an arrow. Put this toward the intake. Not the throttle body. All you can hear on mine now is the whine from the crappy 10 speed when first taking off.

The more that i think about it, i believe the key to it is installing it backwards or at least i think it is backwards.

How does it affect MPG's? If this is a cure (as far as the whistle goes), it makes me wonder if there are any metal burrs or slight machining imperfections within the TB that would cause it.

Not really sure about the MPG difference. I have only had it on since Friday. Honestly i have been so happy that the whistle has stopped i haven't really paid much attention to anything else. When i took the throttle body off, i really looked it over good on the inside. It is very smooth. One thing i did notice was the throttle blade edges are very sharp. I first thought about filing those down but was afraid i would screw it up. The sharp edge on the throttle blade could be where the whistle come from. I think the spacer disrupts the air flow after it comes across the blade enough to quieten it down.

Mine and every 5.0 I have driven makes that clicking/rattle when you let off the gas when cold. Very annoying.

Mine also makes this whistle sound, also annoying. No bulletins for these yet? Its September!

You might have the rattle of the electronic coolant pump.
Every engine with A.S.S. has it to keep the coolant flowing during that annoying start and stop..

I just got my 2018 5.0 and mine is doing to me what it is apparently doing to you as well. I can not stand this sound and it shouldn't be a normal sound in a brand new vehicle.

My 18 has a faint whistle as well. It's not even close to being annoying though, at least to me, and definitely not something I'd even bring the truck in for.

Default 2018 f150 v8 stx whistle

I recently bought this truck. 200 miles on it and noticed the sound. To me it sounds like a intake noise. Similar to the 2016 2.7 EcoBoost turbo sound but..... this truck is not a turbo. Went by the dealership and listened to another truck same model. Heard the whistle but not as loud. I have the best warranty I could possibly get but I'd still like a legit explanation for the sound
