'18 V8 whistle during acceleration
My Platinum 5.0 has a faint whistle under load (doesn't happen in neutral) when in Forward Drive at slow speeds when I accelerate most frequently around 1500-1800 RPM. Once I let off the gas it immediately goes away. With the windows down I hear it clearly, but with the windows up I have to pay close attention with radio turned off to hear anything.
Any ideas? The truck has 1,000 miles on it and going to the dealer Friday but would love to get some ideas from you all because I'm sure they'll tell me they don't hear it or its normal operation when my 2017 V8 sounded great. |
Turbo's? LOL. That would be nice.....

Is it a really high pitched whistle? I have the exact same thing under the same circumstances you describe. Kinda forgot about it over the winter, probably because the windows were up all the time. Now that the weather is getting warmer I have started hearing it again. Had 'them' check it last oil change in the fall and they couldn't find anything. Best they could say is some kind of exhaust back pressure noise.
Please update here if you get to the bottom of this. I will do the same. |

Definitely not whistle tips! LOL.
I dropped it off at the dealer just now. We'll see what they say. |
My 16 does the same. I think it is my throttle body. My 15 GT whistled as well and was more pronounced when I switched to a cold air. It reminded me of the old Edelbrock/BBK throttle bodies for fox/sn Mustangs.

Happens to me too but I can tell it's the supercharger spinning.

Mine has it as well 2018 5.0 I just noticed it today cause in had the window down. 480 miles on it since I bought it last month. Also a weird clicking or rattle type sound we I quick tap the gas in drive or reverse. Thinking of taking it in.

My 2018 5.0 has this whistle as well. It does remind me of my old ecoboost in pitch but less pronounced.
