Seems the 12th gen outlets are perma-hot too.

 

There are pros and cons to it.
Some are very narrow minded about it.
Charging a cell phone would take a long time to drain a 12 volt battery.
Then it seems to much trouble to charge while driving.
Then there are batteries to have along in case the cellphone goes dead as long as a cord is present to use it.
Life it tough for some.
