Does anyone know the difference between these two? Is one just built into the unit eliminating the need for an external adapter/connector? My phone is Android based.

Most of the USB Dongles work the same way, the Dongle plugs into a USB port, phone plugs into the Dongle and vendor provides a application to make it all work.

Just ordered mine for my 4" non sync 2015....should be quite the improvement lol.
also ordered the backup camera, and carplay wireless dongle.
any body with experience on the dongle how good it works?
Intent with the backup camera is to use it for forward facing since i have the oem reverse cam. how does it switch between camera inputs? thx!

I purchased the "Built-in Carplay and Android Auto for PX6 Six-core vertical screen head units $40.00", so I can comment on that. With that option, there is a preinstalled app named "ZLINK", the PX6 has 2 USB connections, even though both USB connections look the same, one is OTG compatible, once a phone is plugged in (either IOS or Android) the ZLINK app starts to connect you to Carplay or AA.

I am curious about the same thing as I want to install a front mount camera (thinking under the bumper or in the grill)
@glt : can you answer this question for us?

wireless carplay is fantastic! looks great and works smoothly. Only issue for me is if im using it, i cant use my phone as a hotspot at the same time.
I half have nova launcher setup—if i set it to my default launcher but still want index to start on boot is there a process for that?

i’ll play with it this week. Havent been able to figure out where to grab power for the aux camera supplied yet—there is 2 plugs in the harness that seem to be positive and negative, but i havent tested them yet. I havent eveb connected my factory reverse cam yet haha.
