Did anyone install the mic they sent? Is it needed?

My temp reads incorrect even tho I went and changed it.

I think something in my sync system is failing. The connection between the truck and my iPhone are terrible and comes and goes. It was doing the same before I installed the Phoenix. Isn’t there a part that Ford is replacing in the sync system for this? I read other people having this issue and they did a master reset of the sync system. Is that possible to do with the Phoenix installed?

Where did everyone run the USB input cables to keep access without pulling the screen out?

My stupid question for the day... Do you use the "console" or tablet for the bluetooth connection or connect to both? I see both on my phone in the bluetooth settings. Id rather NOT use the console but it seems like the tablet doesnt want to connect to the bluetooth or stay connected? Which is better and why? Its two separate systems right?

google maps has an option to cache the map data to the device for areas with poor/no reception, look in the settings. You want have much luck with searches but the map should work ok.

I'm still confused on what makes this Sync pass through version that much better than the previous one.. I have manual controls and Sync 2. any reason to get this over the standard one?

The differences are:

V2:
You lose sync entirely
You lose your physical a/c controls
Integration is not a good
Cost $723.00

V3:
Maintain all sync functions
Sync pass through
Maintain physical a/c controls
Plug and play integration
Cost $649.99 - raptor10 code= $584.99

I guess if you want the older version, go for it. But I would want to pay more for older tech.

When you guys are getting internet service/connection for these tablets.. are you getting a hotspot or setting up an unlimited service (with its own phone # I guess) through your cell phone provider using a IMEI or MEID #?

You have to use a hotspot of some sort, be it your cell phone, built into the truck from Ford, or a standalone unit.

ok.. Do you use the "console" or tablet for the bluetooth connection or connect to both? I see both on my phone in the bluetooth settings. Id rather NOT use the console but it seems like the tablet doesn't want to connect to the bluetooth very well or stay connected? Which is better and why? Its two separate systems right?

Honestly, I'm not sure yet... I've had minimal time to actually use the unit and figure out how the Bluetooth redundancy between SYNC and the tablet is going to be best managed. I'm hoping to have some time today to play around with getting it set up better and contacting Phoenix to see about the poor appearance of the SYNC pass through.

ok. I was planning on farting around with mine this afternoon on my lunch break and then this evening. Id rather not use the Sync for no particular reason I think. I'm just going to increase the Hot spot service on my phone and have the tablet get online that way. I would rather set it up with its own "service" since its unlimited and cheap ($5 more per month) if I could get it setup that way but from what you said it doesn't look like there is any other option other then a hotspot. I kinda get the same info after reading on their website.

The tablet can not get its own internet, you need a hotspot or your phone.

My iPhone X wouldn’t connect automatically when I started the truck, you had to go into settings and connect it manually each time.

Because of that I went and got the Sync Up 2 from T-Mobile, for 10 bucks additional a month. It creates a Wi-Fi network that the tablet automatically connects to. Also found out that T-Mobile phone tethering is limited to 3g speeds unless you pay 15 dollars a month extra for T-Mobile One Plus, so it’s cheaper to just get the hotspot for 10 bucks.
