Engine Swap Help Please
Im New To This Forum. I Just Recently Got A 1996 F-150 With A 4.9 V-6 In It And Im Wanting To Drop A 351w In It Im Being Told Ill Have To Change The Motor Mount Towers. Is This True And What Else Will Need To Be Changed To Complete This Swap?
Thank You All For Any Info

swap
you'll need to go to a junkyard and get the v8 towers, the tranny will still work as it's the same bolt pattern. Exhaust of course, and I think the way the hoses for the rad route are different also, Other than that, it's pretty easy.

towers
towers bolt in.... but the problem I had was that the factory towers are rivited in... least it was on the bronco I did the 300-6 to 351w swap I did The reason you have to change is the way the motor mounts, and the location cause of the longer 300-6 makes the mounts sit too far forward I think.. been a long time ago... but if you can search and find some on EBay or something you'll be faster at your project.
