Is it worth it?
Hey guys.
I just moved and I am looking to buy this truck tomorrow. It's a 1993 f250 xl with a 5.8w.5speed. Long bed, 4x4, single cab. The interior is a bit rough, and the body is decent. No rust all around. Has 30k on the rebuilt engine and 190k on the truck itself.
The guy just told me he wanted $3200 firm. I am asking for all the receipts of the work done on the truck. Also taking it to the mechanic tomorrow to make sure it is all good.
Assuming it checks out from the mechanic, do you think it is worth the $3200? Thanks

Idk why anybody would want a f250 with a 351. Its already a gas hog in a f150 and just putting it in a bigger heavier truck its gonna suck more. I wouldnt get an f250 unless it has a 460 thats gonna suck the same amount of gas with a lot more power or a 7.3
what fordka said. the 351 in a 250 is a little small IMO. the only reason i would get the 250 mentioned, is its a normal cab long bed so its almost the lightest version of a 250 you could get.
and like they said, if he can give you paperwork showing the work done and with good parts, its a fair price.

I know the 351 isnt ideal, but i don't have too much to choose from in the area I live, I have been endlessly searching and I am becoming desperate. I have found a few 460s, but I need to get what i can with gas millage. I am hoping for around 12mpgs, its got 3.55s in it. My other truck (just moved from CT to New Mexico) gets about the same gas millage. I have a 96 f150 with a 300i6 and its a rust bucket, so I am just getting what i can out of it, but thats half way across the country at my family's house. If I could find the same truck I would buy it in a heartbeat, unfortunately I cant find a damn long bed 4x4 here.
in a 250 iv not heard of the 5.8l getting much better then the 460, mostly because its a somewhat heavy truck for a 351, and the 460 has plenty of power to move it, its just a big *** engine lol.
id get a 250 with a 460 if you could find 1 with the right mileage, i love my 460 to death.
the 5speed will last a long time if well maintained and not abused iv seen them with 300k+ before.
