Default is it worth it

well this guy i have been taking to about buying a 87 f150 for parts just to have around. well the truck like i said is an 87 he says the od reads 18xxxx and motor which is good for me the grand 300 straight 6 with 4spd which i could use if i had too. he said the motor is got 98xxx and it runs amazing. the differentials box doors and fenders are gone. it has a 4inch body lift cab is complete exept doors and has a new windsheild and cab is desent. says he can easily get 450 for scrap but i would like to know what scrap yard is paying that for half a truck. im thinking 300 at most. you can get a bout 450-500 for a complete truck. says if if he dont sell it too me hes gonna scrap it. he said he will deliver it to my house if i pay 500 for it. i would like to offer him 400 with the dilivery and if some of the parts off the truck he used the good parts for will come with it but i seem to be getting a hard time to get him to answer that. im still waiting on pics. it came from ma and the girl that owned it last say she put a lot of money into it but hit somthing in the front and didnt fix it. he says motor runs funominal and all the drivetrain is there and i can get the title not that i would fix it anyhow. i just had to see a ford truck with any good parts get destroyed especially if i ever needed anything. so what do you think.

He'll barely get $200 at the scrap yard.

A lot of scrapyards don't even weigh vehicles. The ones around here offer a flat rate. Last one I saw was $98.

So I'm gonna stick with Sean. He'll be extremely lucky of he gets $200

Call a scrap yard to find out what the going rate is. Then tell him and work out a deal from there.

Your leaving out one thing, does your actual truck need any work done to it, because if it dosent there is no use buying this one.

mine has a few thhings go wrong here and there and i all ready got a 95 f150 for parts but not much is compatable with the 87-91. i would still like to save it though. i just took a load of tin to scrap yesterday. was 220 ton and i made $120. everything here gets weighed at scrap yard and they charge what the vehicle wieghs. now that i sent him to reality asking if he would do 400 and told him what it should really bring i havent heard from him. its also got new leaf springs too.

He's waiting for someone with less of a brain that believes the scrap yard will give him that much.

Yes. I actualy talked to him a couple hrs ago. He seems like a bice guy i do actualy think it is worth the money now. Says its got a 4 inch body lift witch is worth the price what he is asking. Says its got a high performane napa motor in it. Drive shafts and a complete cab other than doors. Im sposed to get pics.

well the biggest BL they sell is 3" so its either home made, or the $150 3" BL performance accessories sells. so its the BL is not the same price as the truck. i would buy it for axles and what not to just part it out.
