Default Windshield wiper speed

I only have about 3 settings for my wipers. Halfway working, kinda fast, and all hell breaking loose in a hurricane. I've checked my fuses and such and all seem to be working just fine. Even checked it with a fuse checker. I have no idea what this could be, any help is greatly appreciated.

This post cracked me up. Very well described. Mine operates about as well as yours.

Multi function switch on the column (most likely) or the wiper module over behind the glove box somewhere (the thing you hear clicking when you mess with the wiper switch.
That's the 2 most likely things.

If it helps i'm going to have to fix my clockspring. My air bag light flashes a code at me. So that'll be the next thing I fix. Would that have anything to do with it?

Clockspring being bad has nothing to do with wipers, even though they both are routed through the column (92-96) they don't have anything to do with each other.

I would go with chris and say the switch, mine has a couple more speeds than yours but that is a spot on description. I have like 3 delay speeds and the low/high setting. It does **** me off because some settings on the delay don't work, others only work when selected in reverse order. Been thinking about replacing the switch but just haven't gotten around to it.

That multi function switch seems to be a pretty common problem. What's with all these parts that only last 20 years ?

Yeah I'm probably gonna replace the switch. Mine is doing the exact same thing with the delay speeds not working unless I do it in reverse order.
