me too, but its worth a professional job. Most things I'd do myself, but with something as visual as window tint, I want a professional to do it. So mine was like, 180 or so. But that's everywhere else in town, and none of the other places advertise or list themselves anywhere for window tint.
anyone bought just a windshield strip?

I've done several cars and trucks and it's worth it to have a shop do it. Reputable shops have higher quality tint, they do a great looking job, and normally have a lifetime guarantee.
FYI, Use a fabric steamer to remove old tint. Heat it up with a wide attachment and the tint will peel off like piece tape and bring nearly all the glue with it.

That's what I did. Worked great on the back and vent windows. But the 2 side windows were so old and crappy that it came off in 2 layers, the clear laminate part, and then the actual tint part. And in tiny little piece, no matter what I did. I was less than pleased, to say the least

Decided to buy a roll of the 12 dollar static cling 5% tint. Goes on easy, and I'm very happy with it for the price. It's not perfect, but I don't care. It'll get me by until I have the money to do it right.

Did 5% back window and vent windows, the side windows will be 20% soon here. Pic's coming up when I'm done

Like it's been said, you may not mind but other people will notice! The tint starts to look very bubbling after awhile and turns purple after being in sunlight long enough. It does it pretty quick too.

Nothing against YOU at all. I've done it on my first car but pulled it off after a week. Just looked horrible from the outside

I figured it might. So far it's not bubbling really. It's not perfect, but it's close enough to get me by until I can afford professional tint. Being in Florida, the fishbowl effect of untinted windows is terrible. My interior with just the back window tinted is already way cooler, and that's good enough for me, for now

I cheated a little in this pic, the side windows aren't done, but the vents are.

I'm pretty shocked to see all this commotion about tint. I did it. And did a fairly decent job. Ill snap some pics and send them. I've seen worse professional jobs. And remember. It will bubble bad then go away after a couple days

I did it on a few cars a few years back. Key to get bubbles out. Was and extension cord and hair dryer. Use a drivers liscence and push out the bubbles after warming up tint. Don't get it too hot though.... Just a little warm. Pushes bubbles out nice and easy.
