Default Wierd problem

I yesterday my friends 92 f150 overheated quickly and badly and were not sure why. We've scoped out his truck this morning and his coolant is low, his oil is fine but the coolant looks dirty brown and under the overflow cap it looks like a clay build up.
Here's some pics

We're planning on flushing it today but has anyone else seen this before? How could this happen cause I know he doesn't offroad in this thing.

I'd start with a massive flush. You didn't mix pink and green antifreeze did you?

definetly get a rad flush kit and use a radiator cleaner before scrapping the engine. mine was filled with rust

mine was filled with water and started to create rust. looked like that coming out. this was AFTER a flush and before adding cleaner

Looks like the previous owner mixed or tried to fix a leak.

How about apple cider vinegar for a safe "acid" flush? It'll work for fuel tanks, soured clothes kidney stones, condenser coils; why not radiators?

Correct me guys: I heard that if you mix the red and green you get the rusty gunk. The gunk comes from the mix attacking plastic. True or not? And the super mix with any fluid is crap. Green is the only way to go.

Hope it's not the tranny like Truck In Progress's link !
