Post Wheel Weight

i rotated my tires today, drove off and started hearing clicking/scraping sounds. i pulled to the side and ran my hand along the inside of my rims and felt the wheel weight scraping against my brake caliper. This only happens when these two certain tires are placed in the front. I have 15 inch rims so the spacing between them and the brakes are pretty close. My question is what should i do with the wheel weight? should i leave it?

Yea, I'd pop it off. You can have them rebalanced with self adhesive weights if you want.

lol yea they are annoying as hell. i blame myself for buying such a small size of wheel. hey this is off the subject but im installing a dual steering stabilizer on my 95 f150, i was wondering if it could be a quick installation i could do myself. they seem pretty cut and dry, but ive never installed one before. pretty easy overall? lol i hate how my tires shimmy and i just want a stronger setup.

It should be a fairly easy install.

I'm using vintage 14x10 rims on my LeMans, it's hard to find tires for them. I made them use the sticky weights on them so you wouldn't see them.

geeze i bet. i thought it was crazy fitting 15x10s on my 35 maxxis bighorns, but i never see tires fitting on 14x10 wheels. well i did buy the wheels from les schwab tire center. they should be able to fix this problem because they were the ones who installed them. but yea and about the steering stabilizer ill go ahead and install it myself. Also, ive looked around online and have seen people flip their tie rods on top of the knuckle when installing dual steering stabilizers. whats the benefit in that?

I'm running 15x10s on my F150 with no issues. What type of wheel weights do you have? Sticky weights, I'm assuming? I'd take them to a tire-shop, tell the shop your issue, and get them to re-balance the wheels.

I haven't looked into that. Sounds like a ground clearance mod.

Yea sticky weights. two of the tires that are now on the back of my truck were ok when they were in the front. but the ones i have now in the front the sticky weights are placed a little bit closer to the brake caliper. yea they better do it for free to cuz thats their own fault.

i mean if it isnt going to throw off anything, i might do it because id rather have those tie rods protected. heres a pic of it.
