Whatever a junkyard wants for a motor, plus a box of beer ,tops. This guy knows it's junk, or does he think it's a low mileage classic. When they ask me for an offer , I tell them no , if I make an offer you ll hit me, Wadda ya wan fer it?

The previous owner of my truck had it on Craigslist for $1100 he told me it had a cracked block he asked me what I was willing to give for it I told him I'd give him scrap price for it which at the time was around $175 a ton. So I got it for $500. I've put a ton of money in it but I don't like much from having all new drivetrain

Yea but remember the tranny is good too. I would offer what the yard charges for engine and tranny. You could take engine and have a backup tranny or sell a good tranny. If it has e4od, that thing is expensive to rebuild. Plus you got all the rest of it for parts for you or to part out. Maybe $550 - 600.
