Default ★ What type of JACK do you use???

Ok guys -- I went to jack up a vehicle today to have some fun with it and....

The seals blew out and it wont lift any more!

That -made jack only last 6 months!

As someone who loves working on cars - I'm sick of these throw-away jacks - SO tonights question: What brand of HYDRAULIC jack do you use to lift your truck and what lasts in your experience. I'm looking for durability with the ability to service it myself if need be.

Please CHIME IN and share your stories -

THNX!!

I have a Central Hydraulics 67022 that I got at Harbor Freight for $79. I've been using it for about 4 years and it is still going strong.

I bought it to replace a Craftsman 2.25 ton jack that failed after exactly ONE use.

I have a few, depending on the situation:
  • Whatever AAA may bring with them...
  • Hi-Lift (usually with the Jeep when off-roading)
  • Hydralic floor jack - don't know the brand, bought it at Costco several years ago, it's lightweight being made of aluminum which is nice (also makes it easy for my neighbor to carry when he borrows it)
  • A couple bottle jacks that I have had for many years (a little one and a big one)
  • Pair of car ramps - these I use quite a bit - easy and secure.
  • Several jack stands - to keep whatever is jacked up, up.

That's the one. I use it 2 or 3 times a month.

Lincoln jack. American made. no chicom crap here. 26 yrs of harsh physical abuse and still going. Rebuilt once about 6 yrs ago. Now Hein-Werner owns Lincoln, about $325.00 well worth it.
