Officially my brain is in limp mode! I had replaced vacuum lines over the weekend and pulled the throttle cable. I forget to put it back. So today when I got in I thought it was in limp mode. Oh well at least now it is back at the tranny shop and they now know it is an electrical/ electronic issue. Just got to find it. Still hoping it's not internal to the tranny.

I'm not sure if the funny part isn't that it took me 1/2 an hour to drive 2 miles to the tranny shop. I couldn't hardly make through the stop light before changed red again and them there hills were brutal. LOL

The tranny shop called and said they popped the hood and the throttle cable was disconnected and they weren't sure why.

Oh my gosh it was me!

We are laughing with you. I rebuilt my carb got everything together went to start it and sprayed fuel all over the engine compartment (forgot to to reconnect the fuel line to the carb.)

The best is when you change your oil and realize you forgot to put the new filter in first. Noticed it after about 3 quarts was on the garage floor.

I had the hood up and did not see it until it was dripping off the hood at the windshield. A good 90 to 120 seconds of spinning the engine over

Been there only I forgot the drain plug.

I hope to put a nail in this thread with a final resolution of my original issue. If tranny shop finds that it is some external sensor, does anyone know if these are still available? Maybe from a local tranny parts supplier.

However it works out I should know something by this afternoon. I will update then.

$100 later and supposedly up and going. They told me I had a short under the dash.

I'll find out later. I'm ecstatic of that was it. And well worth the $100
