I am not sure off of the top of my head, but there are 2 valves that sit behind the air plenum. I believe air divertor valves. I thought I had tried both before however yesterday I had pulled about 5 on the vac pump (sorry don't know technical term)on one of them ( ran out of time) and it was slowly letting off

Could this be a problem?

These vacuum tubes look great and seem to pull vacuum through and hold to device. I just can't see replacing them until I need. I know it is a matter of time I have had to make some repairs on this one and especially my e350.

What is the proper way to check the solenoid to the air divertor valves (although I doubt that would be source of a vacuum leak) maybe just a non operational problem. (Again o don't think the solenoid is the issue.

I don't think it is a clogged cat because it runs like a bat otherwise. No real loss of power.

I did confirm that the EVR is doing its job to open the EGR.

At amaco the tech said something about an EGR issue where it might need to be restricted as to how much EG is let into intake.

Anyone got any thoughts on that?

Well it does drive and it is time to go fishing. I will have to tinker later.

Thanks for everyone's input and sticking with me on this. I know there will be a resolve just don't know what yet.

If the problem only occurs at a particular speed but not at any other times, I might suspect an issue with the PSOM or one of the sensors that feed into it, or the PCM which the PSOM sends a control signal to.
Just kind of a shot in the dark there.

After my post Saturday morning I start truck and OD light is on and I can't get it to go off.
I pull codes today (Sunday) and I get a 631 and 332.

Today I replaced most of vacuum lines except for what appears to go through firewall. I don't really think that any was bad, but nonetheless.

Chris_1 what is psom? I have replaced PCM.

What controls OD light?

Okay so my next question should be where is it and then what sensors feed into it?
How do I go about troubleshooting this system?

We are talking about a 91 here right? Did the 91 have the PSOM yet? I thought 91's were still cable controlled. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Also what tranny do you have? If its an AOD then I think it has a second speed sensor on the tranny itself that can cause problems.

Please verify this stuff for yourself - not sure I am correct on any of it because the bricknose is not my specialty.

It is cable controlled. Yes it is the 91. I still think I have some kind of tranny issue especially now with th ODOff light stuck on. IDK. What is it and where oat that actually sends the signal to that light? I am not as concerned about the EGR issue. I think that will be the easier part. These 2 codes just popped up. The one may be related to original issue.

Near as I can find
332 is EGR value opening not detected
631 is overdrive light circuit failure

Here is the site I used
https://www.scribd.com/doc/34996350/...-and-Procedure

or
2nd resorce

332(R,M) EGR did not open/respond during test or if memory code, did not open intermittently -EVR or PEF
631(O) Overdrive cancel light circuit problem - Transmissions

Hope this helps

Yes sir I've got the codes, I just need to know what to do about them. I'm not as concerned about EGR at the present. I had vacuum going to it right before I pulled that code and since I've change vac lines I haven't checked.

I'm most concerned about OD light.

I missed the 91 part. Sorry to confuse the issue.
