Wrap all the pulleys and put it on the power steering last. It should go.

Thats a lot of money for a system that is probably less than can low. I have a can of Freeze 12. It just doesnt tuen the compressor on sometimes. (stop and go hot day, drivimg for at least 20 minutes or so).

Negative results. The belt tensioner broke too (won't go high enough to accomodate it, still nearly two inches of belt remaining, and the pulley no longer articulates, just tightens). Without the tensioner assembly, the belt is literally nearly tight enough to drive with- there is only a half-inch or so of play. Only two days old, second articulation of the damned thing. Back to Autozone for a replacement. Is there a different tensioner for A/C?

Other problems- the compressor outlet hose metal thing is rubbing against the steering column. I am going to bend it away from the column to keep it from breaking. Also, I have to connect the hoses and charge the system.

It seems like the belt path should be 100 or 102 inches long, not 98. That extra 2 or 4 inches will make a big difference and let it actually fit the hoses on.

Does anyone know if there's commonly-available 100 or so inch belts available?

The length is in the part number, 980K6 which is 98.0 inches and K6 is the width. Just ask for a belt an inch or two longer. When I was playing with belt length I was surprised how much one inch gives you.

Any idea why the 98-inch belt won't work?

Well, did your truck have a/c? Either you're swapping it on like I did or you were missing some stuff. I used a newer compressor too and the pulley is larger in diameter I guess for more leverage.
