This is wired inline with the fuel rail wires

It's an 88 inline 6 and that hangs just outside the upper plinum. Someone suggested maybe a knock sensor

I wonder if its the temperature control for the fan that cools the injectors. Ford used a fan to cool the injectors to prevent vapor lock on the early EFI 4.9 because there so close to the exhaust manifolds.

That fan it on a timer, not temperature controlled.

Looks like a inline 6 intake to me my 92s looks offly familiar. I thought the knock sensor was on the block but I could be wrong.

He was talking about the knock sensor. It isn't there on an I6.

Exactly. As far as I know, only the 5.0 has a knock sensor.

yes it is.... maybe not all of them but mine is on the drivers side under the Coil
