Yes, just when I thought my Synthetic convert work was done here...... I must say, I took the bad news a lot more gracefully than you hacker! But as long as there's a few miles left in his engine (less, the longer he waits), there is still time for him to repent, & change his "Evil Dino Way's"! Remember, you too, once drove that same path to ........................Where were you going at the time? Work?...........or was it to "CATASTROPHIC" ENGINE & TRANNY FAILURE ON NON-SYNTHETIC GREASED SKIDS!<-JOKE-<

i run 15-40 rotella conventional and have been for the last 6 months and change every 2500-3000. no leaks, and runs quiter and lasts much longer.... its semi-truck oil good for 30,000 but i still believe in the standard auto engine of 2500-3000. it may be over kill to run the thicker oil but a friend of mine has been runnin it in his 88 302 for years and its still runnin stong too, the reason i asked that question bout synthetics is b/c i dumped 10-30 synthetic in my 89 town car 5.0 and it started leaking...ill stick with conventional in my engine... but if synthetic is going to help along with the Lucas and i hit it with a 5th of trans tune b4 he fluid change then ill give it a shot.. what do i gotta loose beside my trans HAHA

You might check out hackermovie's Synth oil in older engines thread for an intreresting & entertaining read. My theory on leaks after switching to Synth. is you leak was there all the time, just plugged w/ sludge. Re-snugging the valve covers & olipan bolts to spec & in correct bolt pattern, before or after the switch, usually is all that is required, if even required. It is true that dino wicks better to hot, non-submerged metal surfaces, but 20% synthetic stabilizer more than makes up for it. My 87' quit leaking oil after I switched. Because I tightened the pan & covers. Would have quit leakin the dino prior to the switch, if I would have tightened stuff down.
