Question Water Pump Replacement Suprises?

My 1993 F150 with 5.0 EFI need a new water pump. What suprises should I look out for when doing this? What pointers does anyone suggest when doing this? Does the radiator come out? Should anything else be removed, grill? Thanks in advance for any answers.

See Ya; Ray J.

do not remove the radiator, but you will have to take off the fan, belt, hoses, blow by hoses, and the ac power steering bracket, and it would be a good time to change the thermostat and temprature sending unit if its bad. It takes a long while to do. So dont have anything planned for the whole day.

Also the old gasket comes off the timing cover a lot better if you use a torch to heat up a part of the gasket and remove it with a putty knife.

That gasket removal spray works great on stubborn gaskets. I never knew how well it worked because I never bought the stuff but I was working on someones car and they had it so I used it. The gasket practically jumped off the car.
