Anyways, I do not want to niteshade my heads. Mainly because it always seems to crack on headlights, it fades, and I'm also stupidly picky on my light output and don't want anything irreversible that I already know is going to cut down on it. HID off road lights are coming soon so I'm ok with reduced headlight output.

So has anyone ever used any of the vinyl tint films from ebay or anything? I'm trying to figure if they are even worth a shot or not.

I've already "smoked" them once but it was extremely temporary, panty hose haha. But I like the look a lot
you can always get a 1992-1996 f150 we have tons of options

Or convert to 92-96 front end....mustang they make crystal clear lenses and prismatic clear lenses. The prismatic ones match the stock headlights

This is one of my annoyances. I'm one generation off from just buying projectors with the 150, and my Sonoma is a GMC version of S10, S10 has projectors out the wazzo and Sonoma has ZERO. Both my vehicles you can swap the front clip's but..i just want to bolt in some proper HID's already :*(

Why do manufactures have this fetish for flooding the market for one set of vehicles but not the one that's all the same except front end.

Has anyone been aware of any attempts at a group buy with a manufacturer? Get 10 to sign up and put in a down payment and they'd make the 10 for those people (for example)?

I was going to HID on my 95 until Louisiana outlawed HID's on all vehicles that did not come factory equipped with them. Check your local laws!

I started a petition thread a while ago and emailed a company.

that doesnt look bad in those pics. as for the ebay vinyl tint, I have bought it and can say that if the lights have any bend to them, they wont work. at least for me. using a blowdrier, soapy water, and the squeege I couldnt get it to cooperate on the curves. but on the lights on my 4wheeler that were completely flat, the tint went right on and lasted thru mud, sand...etc

so it might work on the fords flat headlights as long as they are smooth and not too faded but getting the 90 degree to fold around the outer part of the light wont work

I've thought about converting the front clip, but I kind of dig being different. All the Fords around here are 9th gens but me pretty much.

Are you saying they make clear lenses for the 8th gen? Or am I misreading and you're just saying they have the normal and clear for the 9th gen front end?

I'd love clear lenses, I'd do those in a heart beat, then paint the top and bottom like yours

HIDs are illegal here too, but its not enforced unless they are blue/green/etc. Mine are white so they just look like badly aimed headlights to cops haha

Hmm that's good to know. I thought the film not working with the curves was just from me using window tint.

I'm going to look into some new headlight housings, if cost isn't insane. The brand new ones look pretty good.

so theres no aftermarket clear housings? havent even tried to remove a bulb on my truck yet but are there any HID bulbs that would naturally fit on these or is the bulb a "different" design?

I like the tinted look with the chrome. If its too much, paint the trim with black SEM trim paint. Will work perfectly.

And you can not run HIDs in Halogen housings. You need projectors for HIDs
