Default True or false

1 True or false, my stock 5.0 engine has the roller hydraulic lifters?
2 True or false, there is a possibility I could have roller rockers?

If #2 is false can my engine be rebuilt and have roller rockers? What all would be involved in doing that (IF I were going to rebuild anyway?)

#1 - True and False: On 92 and higher trucks, it has roller lifters. However, some pre-92 vehicles come with the block already pre tapped for the lifter spider hold down.

#2 - False, you could use roller rockers, the main thing here is to make sure your valve covers are tall enough to clear the rockers you are using. If you are using 1.6 roller rockers, it MAY clear it. I don't know whether it will or won't, but it's something to consider when changing to rollers.

Rollers should fit under stock valve covers.

Ok to do this, is there a kit? I'm not really looking to change anything but the add rollers nothing with the duration or timing. I am guessing mu pushrod size and valve size will change. If I call JEGs will they be able to help me? Has anyone on this forum done this to their truck?

If I do the 1.6 roller rockers, what changes in the way of valves? Push rods, springs. I am thinking of redoing the valve seats. But now, do I need to change valves and springs, or keep in a bag which valve, spring, and rod came from where and put them back in order? Can the DIY'er replace the valve seats? Or doesthat need to go to the shop?

Comp cams or Crane or someone has a bolt down kit for the rockers, they also sell a 5\16 - 3\8 stud kit to convert, but you will have to adjust the rockers, with the bolt down they make a shim kit for proper lash. Seats not replaceable, they are part of the head. You will need hardened push rods for the stud mounted rockers, bolt down will fit into the slot in the head, stock springs ok as long as your not going higher rpms, as far as the valve seats, I buy lapping compound and clean them up myself.

So you don't replace the valve seats you just clean them. Hardened push rods? So just stock but a harder metal? So what size stud does my head have?
