Default trans swap question

i currently have a 93 5.0 4x4 with an AOD trans. i've been on here the past couple days trying to figure out if its been my trans or transfer case giving me hell. now it seems like both. in my other posts i explain a bit more about the issues i've been having. a grinding sound while slowing down and only when slowing down. well til today. i changed the fluid in my tcase and it wont shift into 4x4 now. 7700 alberta said my tcase was shot, not a big deal. i left for work, reversed out of my spot just fine. got to work, about a 30 min drive, and now my reverse sounds like gears grinding. drive works fine, still no 4x4, and now no reverse. wtf?!

my question is will a AOD trans from a 87 bronco bolt up to my 93 without any modifications and without causing issues? if not, im gonna sell the truck, because im at my wits end and my girl is about to kill me because the money i've put into the truck. i dont want to get rid of it, but i feel i'm out of options.

You don't have the AOD but you can use it if you have everything for it.

The computer may throw some codes looking for the electronics of the e4od, but the aod will work. You will also need to find a way to trick the computer into thinking the mlps/neutral safety switch is there other wise you may get a no start condition.
