Tow/Pull Points In The Front?
Hey all, hope you're having a great day celebrating the Giant's victory
Just a quick question about yanking our F150's out of the mud. Of course you can hook up a chain to the frame or hitch in the rear easy as pie, but what are some good hook up points in the front? I've seen the aftermath of some yanking result in the front bumper twisted up at that terrible angle. I'm considering cutting some holes in my bumper and welding some D-rings to my frame. Spring is on it's way, it's almost time to play in the melting snow.

Not only could you build a bumper, but you could choose to build a cross brace with a 2" hitch point in the center and under the factory bumper. By spanning from both frame rails with another, more stout cross member, you can add the receiver, and place it so that the hitch can clear the bumper. Once this is done, you can mount a winch on the receiver, and be able to use it in the front or the rear, or pull with the heavier front of the truck. Setting this sort of brace up also stiffens the front of the truck up. Less flexing, better steering feel. You can also anchor D rings on it to hook chains or winch cables to. There are some comments in another post in here about this. If I can find them, I'll slide them in here.
The post I referenced above is : https://www.f150forum.com/f10/un-bel...4/#post1390613 but the whole article is a good read, even if I did contribute to some of it.

If you like and keep the stock bumper I like this one the best http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=184099, what I would do different in weld a piece of 1/4 or 3/8th plate to the inside of the frame to run the bolts though, then a piece of 2x2x1/4 wall tube to tie the frame horns together, just to keep the frame from bending on a side pull.
