first there are about a million tire size treads.....
second prolly the most popular swap is 31/10.50's if you have an auto e4od the trans shifts kinda funny afterwards, manual it is fine, as far as gears go i run 31's with 3.55's and it goes pretty good on highway. prolly would be better with 3.73's but i got what i got. and they rub the radius arms
you can also fit 33's pretty easy but it will be even harder on the trans, plus they rub pretty bad on the radius arm

I am running the 31x10.50x15's on stock rims on my 96 4x4 and they don't rub the radius arms. I think 265's are basically the same size as the 31's.

Still goes like it did when stock too! I'd suggest 31s for a size up and no lift
I have 33 12.5 bfg TA KO's on my stock 89. I rub the fender a little on real sharp turns. But I ordered a leveling kit for 100 bucks that will fix that. I had gotten 31 10.5 first and they were a bit small for me. Tires Plus took them back after 10 miles and let me upgrade. Just paid the price diffrence
