Angry tips trick on replacing a Power steering pump?

I figured out why my truck is throwing belts the pump pulley can move back and forth about a quarter inch so i picked a brand new one up and will be replacing it tomorrow along with the belt.... again! I would do the Saginaw mod but I was advised by my uncle that the Saginaw pump runs at a higher pressure then the oem for my truck.

any tips or tricks to make the pump swap easier? i know how to do it just want to hear any things to watch out for or tips to make it smoother.

thanks!

yes the E-150s had them its a better pump alot of drag racers use them along with Sean its quiet and just better all in all pump plus it just bolts right up to the existing bracket

if its whining loud check the fluid level it gets louder when its low in fluid.

First of all, the vans use the Saginaw and the same type of steering box. Second, if it does have higher pressure then that must be why the steering is so much better now. It's like an entirely different truck. What are you afraid of?

not getting to work and messing it up beyond repair. besides advanced auto did not have any in stock. my uncle said it could blow out the rack. i love my truck to much to experiment on it.

Our trucks don't have a rack, and like I said it was made for it. You're not experimenting you're using a part that was used and designed for this steering system.

If he does it he will be very impressed. I didn't expect such a drastic improvement, night and day.
