I bought that exact one from pep boys. It actually fell off my truck and slammed on the ground after I used it. Still works perfectly.

Oh yeah. Don't forget to take out the SPOUT plug when you advance the timing. Not speaking from personal experience or anything....

I forgot to put mine back in. Ran hotter than Hell was like whoo hoo this is awesome then it started to knock aw daing not gonna get the full 16 degree bump then I saw the spout and was like whoo hoo again put it in and no knocking. Just 1 knock on an occasional hot restart. The owners manual even says that is acceptable.

When I finally marked my balancer the other day and did the timing, I forgot to take it out....when I next started it, it was chugging like crazy. It just sounded like I had a bad *** exhaust though. And I drove a couple blocks and it sucked. I parked and scratched my head, going through the steps...then realized I hadn't taken it off. Re-did the timing. Ran awesome.

Never hurts to mention to the newer guy's. Can't even "check" base timing w/o pulling the SPOUT Plug.

I mush be board...no,no...a mild beer buzz. A flockin stress day. Now being padded in pizza & drowned w/ a beer chaser(s).

Anyway. "SPOUT" is some retard's way of referring to "SPark OUT". When the plug is removed, the additional "spark" (timing) advance that the ECU adds to "base timing", is "out" or removed. Leaving you w/ looking at your "base time".

W/o removing the SPOUT Plug, you'll see base timing plus the additional ECU advance added.

Meski. Given that one doesn't have all upgraded parts, but has had a tune up in the last 2k miles, what would you say I could advance to? I think I actually found a timing light in my garage.

Also, I'm not sure what I'm gapped to, I think .050, should I pull em and gap to .055, or given that I don't have upgraded coil and wires, .050 is fine?

What's your 90' 302 stock gap range supposed to be? It's either .042-.046 or .052-.056.

Do you know? Or are you gonna make "me" google for it..........................You are, aren't you!

Also gotta know if plugs are Copper core or Platinums.

Haha, genuinely not sure of stock gap. I'm on my phone, else i'd google.

Plats right now. I didn't do the last tune up, I have some coppers out in the garage, but the plats only have around 2k on em. Figure i'd wait for some more wear and tear.

I believe .052 -.056.
Plats= .052 -.054
Coppers= .054 -.056

Referring to using your stock coil.
