Throttle postion sensor replacement
[QUOTE="zeplin;3050404"]JCooper, I hope I have that kind of luck. In the AM I will be going back over to AutoZone to get my codes cleared again and see what if any new codes come up if any.[/QUOTE
Not so fast there.... If you've already cleared the code that led you to replacing the TPS, give it at least a week. My suspicion in my case, was that after clearing the codes, the truck had to complete a new OBD drive cycle. This consists of specific intervals of both highway and city driving. (It's described in your manual). If your daily commute doesn't allow for the amount of mileage necessary for this to happen, that might be your issue. Clearing codes over and over again would only start you back at the beginning.
Keep in mind, this is purely a guess on my part. But on my way home one day..... bam. It was fine. Like I flipped a switch. I had been keeping track of my mileage and it seemed to fit with the OBD drive cycle reset.
Also, no new codes will be stored (if any) without 1st completing a drive cycle. It's like searching a blank hard drive.

JCooper, No change today. it was suggested that I ck/clean the IAC. it was not too pretty. I didn't have any carb cleaner so Squirked some Kroil in and let it set for about an hour. Looked about as good as new after dumping the Kroil out and letting it air dry. Reinstalled and took for a test drive. I was thinking WOW! it's idling down like it ought to. Then I recalled I had never really paid that close attention until this test drive. All was well until it got up close to operating temp and IT WOULD NOT idle down like it ought to.
I decide on the way home to revisit the printouts that AutoZone gave me. One thing I missed or ignored was PO125 said coolant temp is always low or ECT is defective( just replaced the thermostat. This I attributed to a minor leak that I had just repaired the day before... and failed to top it off after replacing the TPS. So I let the truck cool down and topped off the rad and filled the overflow reservoir. Took it out again before supper and drove about 10 miles half city other hwy. it was rush hour and the engine would not idle down below about 1400.
Truck still acts as if it's flooded if I try to start again while still warm.

Reason for changing thermostat. Several years ago the bypass hose sprung a leak. I evidently failed to clean the surfaces for the therm housing gasket hence a seepage resulting in weekly monitoring the coolant level. It did try to overheat one day and it was within a week that I noticed the high idle problem... and shortly thereafter the flooding condition on warm restart.
Do you think it's possible that I toasted the temp sending switch? and it might be a major contributor to the problem?

I ignored that because I thought, "The temp gauge is working so that can't be it."

I was so wrong. Replaced the temp sensor and it's like my engine has been reborn.

Thanks to everyone for their help!!!!
