Default Things I did today....

Today I installed two 12inch pusher fans on my AC Condenser to get ready to use the AC this year...these were 54.99 ea at AutoZone in stock

looks like these as Autozone doesnt have a picture of the fans I used...

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DER-16512/

As most of you know I put a 16in fan on my radiator before winter and the fan isnt quite enough to deal with the hotter 80+ F days it struggles a little to keep up but it does still cycle in heavy traffic...

Although with the AC on and all 3 fans going the needle never moved above 160deg sitting in traffic air on MAX/AC and the AC pumping a nice chilly 34deg

I love it...the engine runs cooler with the AC on..nice touch...so I think next week I will replace the old very used 16in with two 14in pullers as they are 54.99 as well...

I also got new relays and cleaned up all the wiring...the relay on the 16in fan was causing the fan wire to get hot...no more issues with that now...

so that was fun...

tomorrow I need to replace this...

as it broke today and I used a flat washer and cotter pin to hold it together...

I've thought about putting E-fans on my truck. What temp thermostat you running?

Things I did today: 1) filled gas tank 2) added a quart of oil 3) used my truck as a mobile saw horse while working on my garage

I used a lock washer as a snap ring to hold mine together.

Well, that was for my old pedal assembly. If you saw how bad the metal on metal wore the stub then you'd put the bushing back on.

Hmm... my electric fan is a Summit 16" rated at 2,000cfm, it seems to work good but, haven't had to turn the A/C on yet. Think it'll be enough? I may have room for a 2nd smaller fan but, it'll be tight. Stupid power steering and extra trans coolers!?!!??!

well here is the issue as seen today...

the stub that pushes the rod is in fact metal but the rod itself is Plastic...

and whats worse it to is cracked...right where the eye part meets the rod it is cracked about 1/2in the length of the rod from the eyelet...

I greased up the whole thing even the washers and I am going to run with it until I remember to get a bushing

Hacker....try it you wont know until you try it...mine was running alot just keeping the engine cool on a 80f day..with the added heat of the condenser I knew it wouldnt keep up...but the 2 fans on the condenser really help....

Oh yeah, that cheap *** plastic pushrod. When I swappen in the M5OD I used that since it came with that clutch master cylinder for that tranny. Snapped in half the first time I pushed in the clutch. My '87 TOD 4 speed clutch master cylinder had an all steel adjustable pushrod. A little grinding and it works on the other master. I did leave the "snap ring" but with the bushing too.
