Testing the TPS
Can you backprobe with the standard, pointy test leads that come with most multimeters (think $20, not Fluke) or are backprobe leads longer, skinnier, and sharper? I'm glad Crownman posted that video, I really didn't like the thought of stripping away some insulation on the TPS to test for adjustment but until I saw the video guy backprobe I didn't realize that was an option. Thanks for posting this Chris, none of the YouTube vids that I've looked at so far have said anything about adjusting the baseline voltage on a closed throttle. You probably just saved the day for me...
I see how old this is and wish I would have read through it before doing my tests. Dont know if its right or wrong info but I did the tests and got the results listed except had to switch the black and green TPS wires.
So I got the results using the opposite wires. Is my TPS good or not?? And if the wire colors are wrong they should be changed before someone else does this test. And now I have 3 wires with holes in them....lol.
