Someone at work mentioned the fan clutch, if that is going bad could that be the issue im having.

Also how much pressure should there be in the radiator. with Cap off at normal operating temp should it just be flowing in the radiator or will it push out the spout?

The cap should be 13psi w/ the seal in good condition. No or little spring tension, replace it (compare it to a new ones tension. When you burp a system you start w/ the cap off at idle . Don't rev it, if spews up as it warms up, it's a thermostat problem. Once it hits normal operation temperature, you should see the water flowing. Watch for bubbles, keep topping off til they're gone. The fan clutch should not be loose or rigid. Should push around w/ 1 finger.

Depends if you ever want to pick you nose again. Spose you could switch hands, but in Iraq & similar countries, that hand is reserved for something else! Wanna guess what?

Default Confussion here!

I have an 89 with the 4.9. My water temp gauge hasn't worked since I bought the truck. I bought a sunpro triple gauge kit for it because the oil pressure, tach and speedometer don't work either. Cheaper this way than buying a bunch of "senders". Hope thats the right terminology here. Only to find out the clusters gone bad or dealing with a bunch of wiring headaches. I do have the occasional runs like sh*t simptoms, no power at all under a load etc, that seem to be assosiated with the ECT being or going bad. Which ones which? Where are they? I'm assuming since the "sender" just feeds the gauge in the cluster I can replace that with my temp bulb for my sunpro gauge but I want to change the ECT also if it's going to make my truck quit running sick, service engine light go out and quit with the full rich condition thats enough to make my eyes water at red lights! Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!

You're highjacking his thread! It would be more polite to start your own thread. Also, your thread will be more relevant to your problem & less likely to get buried.
