Default Suspension Question

Just plugging away at the house keeping items on the list for F150

The truck takes bumps just fine, but there is a rattling metalic noise that comes from the front suspension (i think) when I go over certain bumps. The truck drives fine, is this just tie rods that need to be tightened up or what?

Thanks!

Taking a shot in the dark here, but maybe a loose caliper?

Check the shocks to see if they are mounted properly. A friend of mine installed shocks on his 93 Trooper but he forgot to tighten the lower nuts/bolts. The truck drove fine, but there was the occassional rattle. After he tightened them up, no more rattle.

Stupid question.. Do you have a reciever hitch in the truck? If so try taking it out. Mine rattles when I go over a bump.

No, no hitch and the sound exclusively originates from the front. Any tall tale signs or things I should be looking for?? Is there any torque setting should I find anything loose?

Yes, same at just about any speed. Even when turning I can hear the ratteling noise (although something has to be the catalyst, such as a bump/pot hole)

I have a noise simular to that. When I go over bumps fast enough it sounds like theirs some wrenches bouncing around in the bed. Anyone know?

Mine is just a sound like a lose metal clanking, but its a very "light" clank as if the metal that is bouncing around doesn't have much mass to it, or its not under alot of pressure.

Other than that, truck runs like a champ (except I need new O2 sensors )
